Anthropic has added a built-in browser to Claude Cowork, its agentic desktop app, so Claude can open websites, read pages, click links, and fill out forms on its own. Announced on August 26, 2026, the browser runs inside the desktop app and stays separate from your personal browser, which means Claude never sees your tabs, bookmarks, or passwords.
