Adobe used NAB 2026 to announce a significant expansion of its Firefly Video Editor, adding Kling 3.0 AI video models, Frame.io Drive for local-speed cloud access, and Enhance Speech for automatic dialogue cleanup. All three features are available now, giving video creators a more complete AI production pipeline directly inside Adobe's ecosystem.

What Happened

On April 15, 2026, Adobe announced three new capabilities for video creators at NAB Show:

  • Kling 3.0 and Kling 3.0 Omni are now available inside Firefly Video Editor. Kling 3.0 is optimized for smart storyboarding and audio-visual sync. Kling 3.0 Omni targets professionals who need consistent character subjects, per-shot control over duration, camera angle, and camera movement. These join more than 30 AI video models already in Firefly, including Veo 3.1 and Runway Gen-4.5.
  • Frame.io Drive is a new desktop application that mounts Frame.io cloud projects as a virtual drive in Finder or Windows Explorer. Footage opens directly in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or After Effects without downloading files first. Local caching handles performance while the team shares a single source of truth in real time.
  • Enhance Speech is now available in Firefly Video Editor, automatically cleaning up dialogue by removing noise, reverb, and background sounds. The tool was previously available only inside Premiere Pro and Adobe Podcast.

The full announcement is on Adobe's official blog and covered in detail by RedShark News.

Why It Matters

The Kling 3.0 Omni addition is the most significant part of the update for working video creators. Maintaining consistent characters across cuts has been one of the core limitations of AI video tools, Kling 3.0 Omni directly addresses this with per-shot control over duration, framing, and camera movement. Paired with the 30+ model lineup in Firefly, Adobe is building a single destination for AI-assisted video production rather than forcing creators to switch between Runway, Kling.ai, and other platforms separately.

Frame.io Drive solves a real pain point for distributed teams. Remote collaboration on large video files typically means waiting for downloads or running parallel storage systems. Mounting projects as a local drive and streaming on demand removes that friction without requiring infrastructure changes.

Key Details

  • Kling 3.0: Smart storyboarding, audio-visual sync, fast iteration
  • Kling 3.0 Omni: Character consistency, per-shot duration and camera control, advanced visual coherence
  • Frame.io Drive: Mounts Frame.io projects as local drives in macOS Finder or Windows Explorer; media streams and caches without manual download
  • Enhance Speech: Noise and reverb removal, now in Firefly Video Editor (previously Premiere Pro only)
  • Adobe Stock: Direct integration with 800 million licensed assets inside Firefly Video Editor
  • Available now for Firefly Video Editor subscribers and Creative Cloud users

What to Do Next

If you are already using Firefly Video Editor, the Kling 3.0 models and Enhance Speech are available in the model picker now. Frame.io Drive is a separate desktop download for teams with active Frame.io plans. Try generating a short sequence with Kling 3.0 Omni if character consistency across multiple shots has been a limiting factor in your workflow.
